What is Ringlock Scaffolding?

Ringlock scaffolding is a modular system that is part of the broader category of scaffolding systems, which also includes Cuplock and Kwikstage systems. Ringlock scaffolding, also known as pin lock scaffolding, rosette scaffolding, ring lock scaffolding, or multidirectional scaffolding, is constructed from pre-fabricated components such as horizontals, vertical standards, diagonal braces, and planks, etc. This system is designed for ease of assembly, disassembly, and transportation, making it a popular choice for various construction and industrial applications.

Ringlock Scaffolding Parts

There are many different parts in the ringlock scaffolding, following is the introduction of some basic parts:

  1. Verticals (with Spigots)

    • The ringlock verticals, also called standards, are the backbone of the Ringlock system, providing the primary support structure. They are typically made from high-strength steel tubes with welded rings (scaffolding rosettes) at intervals of 500mm. The tubes are mostly Q355 material grade. Lengths come in 0.5m, 1m, 1.5m, 2m, 2.5m, 3m, 4m.

Surface Finish of Ringlock Scaffolding

  1. HDG (Hot-Dip Galvanized)

Hot-dip galvanization involves immersing the steel components in a bath of molten zinc. It is the best way to the protect the scaffolding surface andwithstand various weather conditions and physical impacts. It can extend the life of the steel pipe to 15-20 years.

  2. HDG Ringlock scaffolding

  3. Powder Coated

Powder coating involves applying a dry powder to the metal surface and then curing it under heat to form a hard, durable finish.  It is highly resistant to chipping, scratching, and fading, making it suitable for long-term use. Nowadays, we kindly give up the surface treatment of painting, to protect the environment. Powder coating becomes a good option, because it is more eco-friendly than painting, and much cheaper than hot dip galvanization.

    • The modular design of Ringlock scaffolding (with less components than other system scaffolding) allows for easy assembly and disassembly, making it highly versatile and adaptable to various construction needs.

  2. High Strength and Durability

    • Ringlock components are typically made from high-strength steels such as Q355 and Q235, ensuring durability and safety. The system can support significant loads, making it suitable for heavy-duty construction projects.

    • Hot-dip galvanized surface finish also guarantees the long-life span of the scaffolding system.

    • The above features also make the ring lock scaffold require less maintenance.

  3. Stability and Safety

    • The use of diagonal braces and other support components such as base jacks, ensures the stability and safety of the scaffolding structure. This is crucial for preventing accidents and ensuring a safe working environment.

  4. High Efficiency

    • When erecting the ringlock scaffold, all you need is a hammer, to fix the wedge in the holes of the vertical rosette. This quick and easy assembly of Ringlock scaffolding components reduces construction time and labor costs, improving overall project efficiency. Research indicates that Ringlock saves 53% of time compared to Tube and Clamp Scaffolding when erecting.

  5. Cost-Effectiveness

    • Due to the special design and the high efficiency of the ringlock scaffolding, fewer scaffolding clamps and fewer scaffolders will be needed for the construction job.

    • While the initial investment in Ringlock scaffolding may be higher, the system's durability, reusability, and energy efficiency can lead to long-term cost savings.
